Bite Bakery: Playing around on Illustrator

Posted on/at 15:05 by Hannah Jackson

Playing around on illustrator with some of the ideas that I had sketched out in my notebook. I just used Clarendon as a basic type face to practice with and while it is one of my favourite typefaces, I have used it a fair amount in past projects so this is just used as a template for me to play around with.

I made a bite mark shape in Illustrator and laid it over the top of the words. I'm quite set on using the word 'Bite' for the name of the bakery as it is directly linked to eating and refers to the term 'a bite to eat'.

I messed about with a couple of the colour pallettes I showed in the previous post that related to 'bakery'. I really like these colours as they remind me of the sweet colours of cakes as well as the dark and indulgent colours of chocolate.

Just playing around with the colours together. I like the cream and the brown as it is a very chocolatey combination but may not be the combo that I want because it seems far more indulgent than a simple bakery. It is more like a chocolatier's.
